- Exciting permanent/part-time (0.7 FTE) opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse to support admissions, intake and discharge of residents at a 24/7 AOD Rehabilitation Facility.

- Part-time working hours - Monday to Wednesday 9:00am to 5:00pm with a Sunday shift once per fortnight working 8:00am to 4:00pm.

About the Program
Maryknoll Therapeutic Community (MTC) is a 77-bed facility that provides a safe space for residents to recover and heal by exploring their own life experiences and learning from the experience and insights of others.
About the role
- Contribute to admission process, treatment planning, treatment program delivery and discharge process to ensure clients have a safe and effective experience in Windana’s care.
- Conduct nursing physical assessment, noting any pre-existing medical conditions and their treatment and monitor these conditions throughout the clients stay.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans for clients identified at risk to themselves and/or others ensuring high risk situations are escalated appropriately and managed safely.
- Assist clinicians, support workers and Assistant Manager in the running of the Welcome house, contributing to the efficient management and organisation of Maryknoll Therapeutic Community.
- Coordinate discharge plans and referrals to other service providers, ensuring discharge summaries are completed and provided to the client’s regular GP.
- Recognise deterioration in client condition and contribute to the provision of safe and effective emergency care if necessary.
What we're looking for:
- Demonstrated experience working within the alcohol and drug sector, mental health or other primary health care environment with an understanding of AOD service navigation with complex needs.
- Experience in conducting drug and alcohol withdrawal and physical assessments.
- Knowledge of contemporary standards and evidence-based practice and interventions in AOD context.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of people.
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) within the Australian Health Practitioner.
- Diploma in Nursing & completion of 4 AOD core competencies, or willingness to work towards core competencies during employment within an 18-month period.
